Hi, I’m Hannah. I teach violin, ukulele and voice lessons to beginners, mid-level, and advanced students of all ages and skill levels.
*Graduated from Harvard with Honors - Bachelor of Arts in History & Literature, with a secondary in Music and a language citation in Chinese
*In March 2021 I became one of 10 artists to receive the SheaMoisture x Good Mirrors Emerging Visionary Grant
Biggest Musical Inspirations:
Hilary Hahn, Lee England Jr., Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones, Billie Holiday, Fiona Apple and Nina Simone
Originally from Denver, Colorado, I am a violinist and singer/songwriter with a focus in classical, contemporary pop, alternative R&B and jazz genres (based in Los Angeles). I fell in love with music at an early age, often accompanying my mother (an early childhood music teacher) to the “Mommy + Me” classes she taught. I began learning violin at three years old through the Suzuki Method and continued to hone my craft throughout high school. I began shifting my focus towards vocal music and songwriting in college. I graduated with high honors from Harvard University in 2020 as a Bachelor of Arts in History & Literature, with a secondary in Music and a language citation in Chinese. In college, I sang as an alto with the oldest and only paid choral ensemble on campus, the Memorial Church Harvard University Choir. I also had the pleasure of singing with the Harvard LowKeys (a gender-neutral a cappella group) for four years; in 2018, we placed 3rd in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) Semifinals.
Throughout my musical career, I have had the privilege of working with Esperanza Spalding, Donald Braden, Yosvany Terry, Ingrid Monson and Craig Derry. In March, I became one of 10 artists to receive the SheaMoisture x Good Mirrors Emerging Visionary Grant; I was both nominated and awarded the title of ‘Young Emerging Visionary Awardee,’ designated to celebrate young creators who are authentic, bold, expressive, and championing a cause with their creative work. Over the summer, I composed music for the new original production DO NOT MOVE STONES, presented by the Reach Performing Arts Center. Besides teaching lessons, I am also finalizing the release of my debut EP, Like the Fruit. In addition to playing and writing music, I also love to bake, ride bikes, and watch movies/TV. Can’t wait to teach you and your family lessons!!
Looking forward to hearing from you,
