Hi! I am Evan. I am a keyboardist from New York City with two degrees from The Juilliard School in piano performance. Though professionally I perform mostly baroque music, I have performed the breadth of the classical keyboard repertoire, have a strong background in jazz and improvisation, and even traveled for two years in a rock band as the organ player. While I have played and studied with some of the leading classical musicians, I've also played with people like DJ Khalid and T-Pain. I have taught many styles of music over the years to people of all ages. I grew up singing choral music and now conduct a small group of singers and instrumentalists in New York. In my own work, I examine the effectiveness of how I practice in order to get the most out of the least amount of time. When approaching a piece of music, I focus not only on the music but the time surrounding the music. I like to be knowledgeable about any relevant subjects to ensure a more complete approach to playing. I love using historical anecdotes to help set a picture and have a podcast dedicated to classical music appreciation. Just as my Juilliard teacher gave me an entire education based on the lives and literature of the composers, so too I hope to pass on to my students a well-rounded (and stress-free!) time.
