⭐ Award-Winning Composer, Pianist, & Visual Artist

BIO: My name is Brian. I am an award winning composer, pianist and visual artist based in Brooklyn, NYC. I have had works performed by ensembles such as the BBC Singers, Chelsea Symphony, members of the London Symphony Orchestra, Atlas Ensemble, Ensemble Signal, and the Ligeti quartet, as well as at festivals including Bang on a Can, London Contemporary Music Festival, and June in Buffalo. I have received grants from New Music USA, Grammy Foundation, Jerome Fund, Mozaik Philanthropy, and ASCAP. In 2015-2017 I was appointed as an Associate Member with the London Symphony Orchestra’s Composer Soundhub Scheme.

Having taught both in the United States and the United Kingdom (and preparing students for ABRSM exams worldwide), I have a lot of experience working with piano students, children and adults alike. I've also coached singers and performers, as well as taught music theory and composition (both privately and in a classroom setting) throughout San Francisco, New York City, and London since 2004. I hold advanced degrees from the Royal Academy of Music (PhD in Music Composition), the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (Master's Degree in Composition), and Berklee College of Music (Bachelor's in Composition & Film Scoring). In addition, I have attended the European American Musical Alliance Summer Course in Paris, France in 2002 and 2008, which offers training in solfege, harmony, theory, counterpoint, and voice leading.
