BIO: Hey, I’m Steven! I was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA, and am a jazz pianist, composer, and songwriter. My teachers include Fred Hersch and Bruce Brubaker, my instructors while a student at New England Conservatory in Boston, as well as Alan Pasqua and Tamir Hendelman. I’m proud to share that my band is a winner of the Angel City Emerging Artist Competition kicking off the Angel City Jazz Festival at LACMA. I graduated from UCLA with a focus in music composition for dance and have performed at venues including Disney Hall, The Blue Whale, and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. As a private teacher, I work to help students grow in their personal areas of interest, including learning to read music, chord progressions, and playing specific songs. My greatest passion is for teaching improvisation, chord theory, and composition. Looking forward to teaching you Lessns!
